Hours: Tuesday–Friday: 8:45am–5:00pm, Saturday: 8:45am–4:00pm

37.75 hours 

Full-time, permanent position.

Longridge Goldsmiths is a family-run independent jewellers with deep roots in our local community. We pride ourselves on offering quality jewellery, excellent value and outstanding customer service, and on being a trusted part of our customers’ lives for generations.

Our shop has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, but we treat our products, service and reputation with the utmost importance.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on individual to join our team in an entry-level position. They must have strong people skills, a friendly attitude and be able to present themselves in a way that credits the shop. 

Some retail or jewellery/watch experience is helpful, but more important is a genuine interest in jewellery, a willingness to learn, and the confidence to get stuck in and use your own initiative.

This is not a target-driven or commission-based role. Instead, you’ll play a key part in the smooth day-to-day running of the shop, always putting customers first.

• Welcoming and assisting customers in a friendly, professional manner
• Selling jewellery, watches and gifts with honesty, confidence and care
• Booking in repairs and alterations accurately
• Handing out completed repairs and providing clear explanations
• Curating and keeping displays tidy, well-presented and up to date
• Maintaining a clean and organised shop environment
• Supporting general day-to-day shop operations
• Using your initiative to identify what needs doing and help the shop run smoothly

There will also be an opportunity to learn ear piercing as part of the role, but not mandatory.

• A warm, confident communicator with strong people skills
• A genuine interest in jewellery and retail
• Someone reliable, organised and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working as part of a small, close-knit team
• Able to take initiative and work independently when needed
• Retail and jewellery/watches experience is an advantage, but not essential
